Directors Andrew Burnside and James Marshall have a combined experience of over 30 years in the Accountancy industry and each bring an extensive knowledge in all areas of Accounting and Taxation.
James joined Turbett & Co in 2007 after the completion of his A-Levels. After qualifying as an Accounting Technician in 2009, James then commenced training with Chartered Accountants Ireland. Having passed his final Chartered Accountants Ireland exams in 2012 James was then admitted to membership in 2013 and has since become a Fellow Member of Chartered Accountants Ireland in January 2024. James continued his studies with an aim to offer his clients an all round package and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in October 2014
James has extensive experience in all aspects of accounting and has developed a wide knowledge of taxation including Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. He works closely with a number of prominent local companies in the preparation and review of management accounts. James has extensive experience working with clients to help mitigate their tax liabilities via company incorporations having successfully incorporated a number of very large Poultry businesses and Renewable businesses (wind turbines). James is a Certified Xero Advisor and is heading up the transition for clients to ensure they are compliant with the obligations of Making Tax Digital (MTD).
Andrew joined Turbett & Co in 2003 after the completion of his A-Levels. In 2004 after completion of the Accounting Technician course he commenced his Chartered Accountancy Ireland studies. In September 2007, Andrew completed his FAE examinations and was admitted to membership of Chartered Accountants Ireland in April 2009. In January 2020, Andrew became a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. As well as having vast experience as a Chartered Accountant, Andrew also qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in January 2014.
In his 20+ years experience with the firm, Andrew has developed significant expertise in the preparation of all forms of business accounts for companies, partnerships, sole traders and LLPs. Andrew also works closely with many of our clients assisting with the provision of timely management information to better facilitate management decisions. Andrew also heads up the cross border tax team within Turbett & Co and advises clients on how best to grow their business whilst effectively managing their tax exposure. Andrew also specialises in dealing with the renewable energy sector through his long-term dealings with many of our clients.
